Santo Domingo.– The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, issued Decree 418-26, through which he appointed new consuls general in the United States and Argentina, as well as an ambassador in the internal service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX).

According to the decree, Obispo de los Santos de los Santos was appointed consul general of the Dominican Republic in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. The provision also repeals Article 17 of Decree 392-20, of August 24, 2020, which had appointed him deputy director of the Price Stabilization Institute (Inespre).

Likewise, the president appointed Carlos Gabriel García Candelario as consul general in Los Angeles, California, United States.

In the same decree, Tácito Leopoldo Perdomo Robles was appointed consul general of the Dominican Republic in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with jurisdiction over the entire national territory of that country.

Additionally, Bienvenido Alfonso Rodríguez Zorilla was appointed as ambassador in the internal service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX).

Decree 418-26, signed by President Abinader on June 19, 2026, establishes that the measure is adopted by virtue of the powers conferred upon the Executive Branch by Article 128 of the Constitution of the Republic and Law 630-16, Organic Law of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Foreign Service.

The provision orders the decree to be sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chamber of Accounts, the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic, the Ministry of Public Administration, and other relevant institutions for their information and execution.
