Abinader highlights MenaRD’s triumph in the Central American Games: “We are also gold in eSports”

Santo Domingo.– President Luis Abinader congratulated Dominican player Saúl Mena, known as MenaRD, this Saturday for winning the gold medal in the Street Fighter 6 competition at the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games.

The president highlighted the triumph of the eSports athlete and celebrated that the Dominican Republic also reached first place in this discipline during the regional sporting event.

MenaRD managed to secure a 3-0 victory against Panama’s Raúl Cogley in the gold medal match, a result that allowed him to climb to the top of the podium.

The Dominican had an outstanding performance throughout the competition and barely conceded a round before reaching the final. Cogley won the silver medal, while the Venezuelan Jorge Velázquez took the bronze.

After receiving the gold medal, MenaRD thanked God and his family for their support throughout his career and announced that he will travel to Tokyo, Japan, to participate in a new competition.
