Abinader urges young people from Dajabón to prepare; inaugurates new classrooms worth RD$40.4 million

The work represented a total investment of RD 40.4 million, destined for the roofing of the court and the construction of classrooms for the initial level.

Dajabón. – President Luis Abinader urged this Sunday the Dominican youth to prepare academically and technically to face the challenges of the future, while guaranteeing the follow-up to the school and community requests raised by student representatives, considering that education constitutes the basis of personal development and sustainable progress of the country. The statements were offered during a lunch meeting with young students from high schools, colleges and universities, as well as from the Instituto Tecnológico de las Américas (ITLA) and the Instituto de Formación Técnico Profesional (Infotep), held in the roofed area of the Colegio La Altagracia, where he urged young people to study consistently, take advantage of current learning opportunities and orient their preparation towards areas with high labor demand, without losing sight of personal vocation. He also emphasized that knowledge, technical training, and higher education are key to improving employability and building a better future.

English, technology and technical education The president recommended strengthening the command of the English language due to its direct impact on better job opportunities and highlighted the importance of technological areas linked to the modern economy, citing current challenges such as cybersecurity. He also emphasized the growth of technical education and the expansion of training opportunities in the country.

As part of his agenda today, President Luis Abinader  inaugurated the roofing of the court and classrooms of the initial level of the Francisco Javier Ureña Canela School, in the province Dajabón, a work that strengthens the educational infrastructure and contributes to improving the conditions of teaching and learning in this border demarcation, benefiting more than one hundred students. The investment allocated to the construction of the court’s roof amounted to RD 24,913,226.57, while the construction of the initial level classrooms had an investment of RD 15,504,663.87, for a total amount of RD 40,417,890.44. In addition to the roofing of the court and the four classrooms of the initial level, the work included the construction of two bathrooms, two kitchens and a play area, guaranteeing adequate, safe and functional spaces for the integral development of children in their first years of schooling.
