Raphy Pina: “To me, Dalvin La Melodía is worth a $50 million USD contract”

Puerto Rican music producer Raphy Pina stated this Monday, during a call to Alofoke Radio Show, that an artist of the caliber of bachata singer Dalvin La Melodía is worth a contract of approximately USD 50 million.

“For me? 50 million, Yes, because I am not going to sign for life,” expressed Pina.

Faced with the astonishment of the panel members at the figure described and the calculation in Dominican pesos, Pina explained that it would be a contract for at least ten years of work. “Listen well, that is a contract for at least 10 years to give it your all,” he asserted.

The expert in the musical field explained that large-scale business deals are handled in the industry where, for example, tours are paid in advance for five years for figures reaching USD 280,000,000 or USD 300,000,000; and that everything depends on what is being negotiated, whether it is just an album or the publishing catalog (publishing).

“There are tours that pay you the money upfront for 5 years, and they are big businesses, Diversos gave them 280 million, eh to the other one they gave 300. That’s why I tell you that it depends on what one wants: «Oh, no, look, to make a little record there», ah, well take a little million «No, no, I want the publishing, I want this”, indicated in detail the producer and also husband of the Dominican Naty Natasha.

Finally, Pina concluded that Dalvin Antonio Núñez Vargas, the artist’s birth name, truly has great economic value because he fills venues and the audience sings along to all his songs from beginning to end, a situation he was able to verify personally at the Coca-Cola Music Hall.

“I was at the Coca-Cola and I saw that they were singing all of the guy’s songs, and the Spotify numbers are not the same, they don’t back it up. So that guy is being listened to through other channels,” the producer pointed out.

The Puerto Rican showed his admiration for the Dominican bachata singer, whom he described as an explosive and natural talent who has managed to win over the Puerto Rican public.

Pina pointed out that it had been a long time since an artist with those characteristics had emerged and explained that he has met with the young singer on several occasions to share experiences and advice based on his musical career.

The statements by Raphy Pina were offered during a live broadcast on “Alofoke Radio Show” and highlight the commercial potential of Dalvin La Melodía within the music industry, especially due to the growth of his popularity in Puerto Rico and the connection he has achieved with his followers.

His words also highlight the interest the bachata artist can spark in the international market, at a time when his music continues to gain ground outside of the Dominican Republic.
