In a context of high regional competition and greater demands in international markets, the Dominican Republic closed the year 2025 with relevant advances in its capacity to compete, export, and attract investments, driven by the strengthening of the Dominican System for Quality. During the year, the Dominican Accreditation Body (ODAC) steadily advanced in its mission to accredit competent and reliable conformity assessment bodies, through new accreditations, scope expansions, and rigorous technical evaluations. These efforts directly impact strategic sectors such as industry, agro-export, health, commerce, and the environment, raising the standards under which products and services operate in the country.
More quality, fewer barriers to trade
Among the main milestones of 2025 is the accreditation of AGQ Labs, the first testing laboratory with sampling scope for food and water in the Dominican Republic, an advance that strengthens market security, reduces technical barriers to trade, and improves the national capacity to respond to the demands of international markets. In addition to this is the accreditation to the Dominican Avocado Cluster, the first certifying body for products with Designation of Origin, a key tool to differentiate the Dominican exportable offer, add value to national products and strengthen their positioning in increasingly competitive markets.Reliable processes that generate trust
In operational terms, ODAC fulfilled 100% of its Annual Evaluation Plan, guaranteeing rigorous, impartial, and transparent processes. This level of fulfillment reinforces the confidence of productive sectors, consumers, and investors in accredited services and the system that supports them. Accreditation is thus consolidated as something more than a technical requirement: it becomes a mechanism that reduces risks, improves productivity, and strengthens economic decision-making.A key year for international positioning
The year 2025 also marked a turning point for the country’s international projection, as the Dominican Republic became the host of the 34th General Assembly of the Inter-American Accreditation Cooperation (IAAC), a meeting that brought together representatives from more than 26 countries in the Americas, the Caribbean, and Europe.This event positioned the country as a relevant actor within the regional quality infrastructure, strengthened international cooperation, and sent a clear message to the markets: the Dominican Republic is committed to reliable, recognized standards aligned with the best international practices.

During the year, the ODAC promoted inter-institutional agreements with the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) and the National Health Service (SNS), expanding the national technical base and strengthening capacities in strategic areas for economic and social development.
