Colombia.- Argentine specialist Ana Paula Valaco, a reference for JournalismAI, stated that one of the main challenges for journalism in the era of artificial intelligence is to anticipate disinformation and consolidate itself as a reliable source of information for audiences.

Valaco explained that the media must quickly identify the topics that generate doubts among the population in order to respond with verified content before false narratives proliferate.

“We must position ourselves as a benchmark for credible and reliable content, serving as a safeguard for audiences seeking quality information,” he noted.

Within the framework of the Gabo Festival 2027, from the discussion ¿How to make AI valuable for your journalism?, the expert highlighted that artificial intelligence can become an ally for journalism by allowing greater agility in trend detection, the analysis of large volumes of data, and content production, provided that its use is accompanied “by editorial criteria and human verification”.
