Las Vegas.- The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is entering its final stretch in Las Vegas with thousands of attendees crowding the pavilions and exploring proposals that promise more functions, based on artificial intelligence (AI), that make life more pleasant. As predicted, AI dominated the narrative of the event that has brought together more than 4,500 exhibitors, who this year have announced more practical products and services and closer to the average consumer that in most cases will go on sale this year.

Tablet or phone?

One of the most anticipated products this year has been Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold, with which the South Korean company once again sets the standard in phones. As its name says, the device consists of three folding panels, which when extended become a 10-inch tablet, allowing three applications to be open at the same time. It has five cameras, including a main one with 200 megapixels, which marks a significant advance in these phones, which also have an alarm system for when the user closes it incorrectly. Artificial intelligence has turned the phone, which will go on sale in the first quarter of 2026 in the U.S., into a workstation for users, the South Korean company has highlighted. With this global launch, Samsung is ahead of Apple, which is expected to present its first foldable phone this year.

The laptop with an expanding screen

Among Lenovo’s multiple products, the world’s largest PC manufacturer in terms of units sold, is the ThinkPad Rollable XD Concept, a laptop that expands the screen space.

This prototype is one of the world’s first foldable devices with a screen that expands to offer 16 inches, in a compact 13.3-inch laptop.

The use of AI in this laptop allows users to launch applications or switch modes easily with a simple gesture or voice command.

Glasses and more glasses

Smart glasses have surpassed last year’s figures at CES 2026, with a large number of proposals. For example, the new version of Meta Ray-Ban Display promises the user the ability to read messages in real time without taking out the phone, even enjoying a personal teleprompter. However, the Rokid AI Glasses have entered the competition with a similar but lighter and more economical proposal. eSight Go has also caught the public’s attention, as these glasses help people with significant central vision loss maintain their mobility and independence. People with various low vision conditions, such as macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy, could see with greater sharpness and clarity, using these glasses that use artificial intelligence to provide more advanced visual assistance. For gaming enthusiasts, RayNeo unveiled at CES 2026 the world’s first augmented reality glasses compatible with HDR10. Baptized as RayNeo Air 4 Pro, this device offers an experience similar to a private cinema in a light and portable format, as the company explained to EFE. The fair will last until Friday, but due to its size – nearly 800,000 square meters – in six different locations with large capacities in Las Vegas, it is almost impossible for one person to visit it completely. The Consumer Technology Association (CTA), in charge of organizing CES, expects the 2026 version to surpass the 142,465 people from all over the world who attended last year, 2.7% more than in 2024.
