Santo Domingo. Dr. Ana Jacqueline Ureña assumed the Deanship of the Faculty of Humanities at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) this Thursday, with the commitment to promote a management style based on transparency, dialogue, and institutional strengthening.
During the inauguration ceremony, Ureña stated that he accepts this responsibility “with humility, gratitude, and a deep commitment” to the Faculty of Humanities and the public academy. At the ceremony, the outgoing dean, Dr. Gerardo Roa Ogando, carried out the formal transfer of command, giving way to a new stage in the leadership of that academic unit.
The new dean stated that the challenges facing the faculty require the joint effort of all university sectors, through collaborative work, consensus, and the active participation of faculty, students, and administrative staff.
“The great challenges we have ahead can only be achieved if we walk together and in unity,” Ureña expressed during his speech.

Likewise, he highlighted the role of the Faculty of Humanities within the UASD, which he defined as the “humanistic heart” of the institution, and assured that his administration will be focused on strengthening the academic quality, institutionalism, and social commitment of that university department.
