Montecristi, D.R. – The Dominican Republic Army delivered the Mangá and Hatillo Palma detachments, belonging to the 4th Infantry Brigade, after completing a remodeling and equipping process aimed at strengthening the operational capacity of these military units in the northwest region of the country.
The delivery was led by the Army’s commanding general, Major General Jorge Iván Camino Pérez, who highlighted that the improvements are part of the military infrastructure modernization program promoted by the institution.
The works included the comprehensive rehabilitation of the facilities and their complete equipment, with the aim of offering better working and accommodation conditions to military personnel, as well as optimizing the response capacity for the various surveillance and security operations carried out in the area.

As explained by the high military command, the modernization of both detachments will allow for reinforcing the Army’s institutional presence in strategic areas of the Montecristi province and strengthening the work carried out by the 4th Infantry Brigade in the protection of the national territory.
During the supervision and handover tour of the works, Camino Pérez was accompanied by the mayors of Guayubín and Laguna Salada, César Molina and Germán Rodríguez, respectively; the mayor of the municipal district of Hatillo Palma, Víctor Espinal; as well as the commander of the 4th Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General José Manuel Durán Infante, along with other civil, military, and police authorities.

The commanding general stated that these actions respond to the institutional commitment to continue strengthening the troops’ operability and to guarantee the effective fulfillment of the Army’s constitutional mission throughout the national territory.
With the remodeling and equipping of these facilities, the institution seeks to improve the well-being of its soldiers and strengthen its operational capabilities in one of the country’s strategic zones.
