Santo Domingo.- The City Council of Santo Domingo Norte (ASDN) inaugurated the renovation and lighting of the General Gregorio Luperón bridge (of La Barquita), in the Sabana Perdida sector.
The work included the installation of 37 lamps, painting of railings and concrete walls.
In addition, 18 national and institutional flags were installed on an equal number of electric poles that were placed on the viaduct.
The inaugural act was led by Mayor Betty Gerónimo, who highlighted the importance of the road, which had been in the dark for more than eight years.
“Estamos iluminando el puente completamente, estamos remozándolo, pintándolo, acondicionándolo y hoy, gracias a Dios, vamos a darle esa iluminación, que tanto se necesita en La Barquita”,
dijo Gerónimo.
The councilwoman indicated that this beautification will also be carried out on the other bridges in the municipality, reaffirming her commitment to work for a safer, more modern, and accessible north.
These interventions are part of a comprehensive plan for security, infrastructure, and urban beautification, which will directly benefit the residents of the area and improve transitability and visibility in the zone.
It is recalled that at the beginning of the year, the Jacinto B. Peynado Bridge, which connects the National District with Santo Domingo Norte, was illuminated and renovated.
