Santo Domingo. — The Office of the Attorney General of the Republic (PGR) has implemented the Supplementary Pension Plan Regulations, an initiative that will allow career prosecutors to access retirement with better economic conditions once they conclude their working lives.
The announcement was made by the Attorney General, Yeni Berenice Reynoso, together with the Superior Council of the Public Ministry, during an event held at the institution’s headquarters.
The program is aimed at members of the Public Ministry who have reached 60 years of age and have accumulated at least 25 years of service in the public administration. Those who are already under the life annuity modality or have obtained an early pension may also participate.
During his speech, Reynoso described the entry into force of the regulation as a significant step to strengthen the Public Ministry’s career path and recognize the commitment of those who have dedicated decades to the service of justice.
The attorney general explained that the fund will be financed through contributions from prosecutors and the Attorney General’s Office itself, with the aim of guaranteeing its sustainability and offering additional economic protection during the retirement stage.

In addition to the economic benefit, the Superior Council of the Public Ministry approved that prosecutors maintain their health insurance coverage once they retire.

Reynoso highlighted that this measure is part of the commitments made to strengthen the prosecutorial career and recalled that in recent years, benefits such as a vacation bonus, an institutional anniversary bonus, a school allowance for prosecutors with minor children, and comprehensive health insurance have also been incorporated.
To request enrollment in the plan, interested parties must complete the corresponding form, submit a copy of their identity card and the certification of the base pension issued by the Pension Fund Administrator (AFP) or by the General Directorate of Retirement and Pensions, in addition to the documents required to support the application.

With this initiative, the Attorney General’s Office seeks to offer greater stability and security to prosecutors who are concluding their careers in the Public Ministry, guaranteeing a retirement in better conditions after years of service to the State.
