Santo Domingo. The institutions participating in the organization of the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games are advancing in the preparation of the mobility plan that will be executed during the sports event, with the purpose of streamlining traffic and guaranteeing the safe transport of athletes, delegations, officials, and spectators.
As part of these preparations, representatives from various entities held a meeting at the headquarters of the General Directorate of Traffic Safety and Land Transportation (Digesett), where they reviewed the actions that will allow for maintaining vehicular flow and reducing congestion in the areas where the competitions will take place.
The meeting was attended by delegates from the National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (Intrant), the Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Public Works, the Military and Police Commission (Comipol), the Metropolitan Office of Bus Services (OMSA), as well as representatives from the city halls of the National District, Santo Domingo East, and Santiago, among other institutions.
The authorities reported that the operation includes circulation corridors, official routes, and a coordination scheme between the involved agencies, in order to facilitate access to the different sports venues without significantly affecting the mobility of citizens.

The XXV Central American and Caribbean Games are scheduled to be held from July 24 to August 8, 2026. However, the special mobility plan will begin on July 17 and will remain active until August 9, due to the early arrival of delegations, judges, and technical staff.

With this planning, the authorities seek to offer a more efficient transport system during the event, guaranteeing both the development of the competitions and the movement of residents and visitors in the cities that will serve as hosts.
