Santo Domingo.– The Banco Popular Dominicano reported that its Subagente Popular network, consisting of more than 1,084 points, has achieved national coverage, with a presence in the 32 provinces of the country and in 127 of its 158 municipalities, equivalent to 80% of the national territory.

This network has helped to expand the bank’s coverage in areas without physical branches, allowing it to offer financial services more efficiently and accessibly. In 2024, more than 5.6 million transactions were recorded on the Subagente Popular network, demonstrating growth in transactional activity by ensuring that operations carried out through this channel currently represent 15.2% of the total face-to-face transactions carried out at Banco Popular.

“Hemos fortalecido nuestra misión de promover la inclusión financiera para amplias capas de la población, generando con ello un horizonte de estabilidad y nuevas oportunidades, todo ello enmarcado en una visión sostenible”,

afirmó Paniagua.
The transactions preferred by Subagente Popular users correspond to deposits and withdrawals with more than 78% of the operations.
Meanwhile, the rest of the operations are distributed in the payment of services with 15.1%; the top-up of minutes for mobile phones with 4.5%, and the payment of credit cards with 0.4% of the operations. Regarding the type of commerce with the greatest participation within the Subagente Popular network, pharmacies, in particular, concentrate 36% of the subagent points, followed by small grocery stores with 15% and supermarkets with 10%. This behavior demonstrates not only its strategic location, but also the users’ trust in these establishments as effective channels for managing banking operations, especially deposits and withdrawals.
