The Brazilian women’s futsal national team wants to confirm its status as favorite in the quarterfinals of the World Cup in the Philippines with a victory against Japan, in the match that will be played this Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the PhilSports Arena in Manila.
The team trained by Wilson Saboia, favorite for the title as leader of the world ranking, arrives at the match in excellent shape and boasts 40 consecutive victories, during which time it has scored 290 goals and conceded only 15.
He hasn’t known defeat since March 22, 2022, when he lost to Spain 3-2 in Melilla, with two goals from Ale de Paz and one from Laura Córdoba, who are precisely participating with La Roja in the World Cup in the Philippines.

Luciléia Renner, the top scorer in the history of the Brazilian national team with 93 goals in 84 matches, highlighted this Monday the illusion that her team has in reaching the semi-finals.
“We are excited and eager to beat Japan, a team that has good individuals and players who work on the court,” said the athlete, who scored 2 goals last Saturday in the victory against Panama.
Luciléia, who is also the captain of the Brazilian team, revealed that her teammates “are eager to offer a new victory to our fans in a tournament as important as the World Cup.”
Japan, which qualified as second in group C, will face the match recognizing Brazil’s status as favorites, although Naomi Matsumoto does not give up on surprising in the knockout stage.
“We are very happy to reach the quarterfinals and very excited to face Brazil. They defeated us last year and this is our opportunity to defeat them,” she said.
