Camila Issa: “Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2026 changed my life”

Santo Domingo.– The representative of Santo Domingo de Guzmán and third runner-up of Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2026, Camila Issa Svelti, stated that her participation in the pageant marked a turning point in her life, describing the experience as a process of personal and professional growth.

The also Reina Hispanoamericana of the Dominican Republic assured that the nearly three months of preparation represented a challenge that transformed her.

“For me, this was a dream come true. I learned so much in this process. I went in as one woman and came out as a completely different one, and I love the result,” she expressed.

Isa explained that the competition required long workdays that started at 4:00 a.m. and ended near midnight, with very few hours of rest.

“It is not easy at all. There were days when I would leave a photo shoot at 4:00 in the morning and by 8:00 I already had to be ready, with hair and makeup done. Even with the exhaustion, I had to smile and always give my best,” she recounted.

Regarding living with the other candidates, she highlighted that the pageant allowed her to create friendships that she hopes to keep for a long time.

“We are all dreamers who dared to take a leap of faith. I am taking away great friends from this experience,” she maintained.

When sending a message to the participants who did not manage to advance in the competition, she motivated them to keep working towards their goals.

“May they continue to grow and compete with themselves. The true competition is to be better than yesterday’s version,” she stated.

Although he said he did not know what his next projects will be, he assured that he will continue working to take advantage of the opportunities that arise.

Finally, he/she thanked the public for the support received during the contest.

“I was surprised by all the support I received. Thanks to my team, my friends, my family, and everyone who believed in me. I am just a girl with a dream, and thanks to you, that dream came true,” she concluded.
