Toronto — Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, declared on Sunday that his country has no intention of seeking a free trade agreement with China . Carney responded to the threat from US President Donald Trump to impose a 100% tariff on imports from Canada if the United States’ northern neighbor moved forward with a trade agreement with Beijing.
Carney said that his recent agreement with China simply reduces tariffs in a few sectors that were recently affected by tariffs. Trump claims the opposite, publishing: “China is successfully and completely taking over the once great country of Canada. It is very sad to watch it happen. I just hope they leave ice hockey alone!
