The work will have capacity for more than 5,000 people and is part of the set of infrastructures that consolidate Ciudad Juan Bosch as an expanding city.
Santo Domingo.– The Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza, announced that the La Gaviota Amphitheater will be inaugurated in February 2026 with a free concert for the enjoyment of the community, as part of the new infrastructures that strengthen the cultural, sports and recreational offer of Ciudad Juan Bosch.
The announcement was made during a work meeting and a supervision tour led by the minister in this community, where he learned about the progress of the housing project and the main works in execution.
The La Gaviota Amphitheater will be ready in the first week of January, next to the Sports Complex and Constitution Park. In February, the formal inauguration of these infrastructures will take place, highlighting the amphitheater, with a capacity for more than 5,000 people, as a new space for cultural and community activities.
During the meeting, the Vice Minister of Investment Projects, Camel Curi, presented an overview of the social and urban impact of the development of Ciudad Juan Bosch under the management of the Trust for the Construction of Low-Cost Housing in the Dominican Republic (VBC-RD), highlighting its consolidation as a planned city, with integrated services and sustained growth.

It was reported that the project currently encompasses 109 developed lots and 4,380 new homes, for a total of more than 15 thousand homes, with an average development level of 85%, and that all residential lots have already been sold, with only commercial use lots remaining available.

Likewise, an update was offered on other strategic projects: the second water tank will be completed in April; the second water treatment plant, in June; and the community funeral home between the months of May and July.
During the meeting, pending initiatives such as the Bosch Patio and the Free Zone, as well as the development of land adjacent to Ciudad Juan Bosch, were also addressed. In that regard, Minister Paliza agreed to coordinate an inter-institutional meeting to evaluate their integration into the urban development of the project.
Authorities also highlighted the financial strength of the trust, which will allow for the continued promotion of new initiatives, including the start of the Ciudad Antonio Guzmán project in Santiago, which will be developed with its own resources.
The day concluded with a supervision tour that included the La Gaviota Amphitheater, the Constitution Park, and the Sports Complex, where the minister was able to see firsthand the progress of these works.
