Santo Domingo.-The Emergency Operations Center (COE) increased the green alert level to 13 provinces and the National District due to the meteorological conditions affecting a large part of the national territory.
The measure was adopted following a report from the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet), which forecasts moderate to heavy downpours at times, accompanied by thunderstorms, wind gusts, and possible isolated hail.
The provinces placed on green alert are Monte Cristi, Puerto Plata, Valverde, Santiago, Santiago Rodríguez, Dajabón, Elías Piña, San Juan, Espaillat, Hermanas Mirabal, San Cristóbal, Santo Domingo and Hato Mayor, in addition to the National District.

The authorities urged the population to remain attentive to official bulletins and avoid crossing rivers, streams, and ravines that present high volumes of water, especially in areas under alert.
