Samaná.- Community members from the La Chorrera area, in the municipal district of Arroyo Barril, staged a protest demanding a solution to the prolonged power outages that, according to their reports, have been affecting different sectors of that area.
During the protest, residents burned tires and placed debris on the public road, causing traffic disruptions as a pressure tactic to draw the authorities’ attention to the constant power outages.
The protesters expressed their concern about the difficulties caused by power outages in homes, businesses, and other productive activities in the community, and therefore demand a response from the authorities responsible for the electricity supply.

So far, community members point out that no effective dialogue has been established with police authorities or the corresponding institutions that would allow for a solution to the situation to be reached.
Residents of La Chorrera hope that the authorities will intervene and that an approach to the community will be made to seek alternatives that allow for the restoration of the stability of the electrical service and prevent the protests from continuing.
The situation is causing concern among the residents, who warn that they will continue to demand a response until they obtain a solution to the problems affecting the electricity supply in the area.
