Santo Domingo.– The National Council of Private Enterprise (CONEP) and the Permanent Forum of Political Parties of the Dominican Republic (FOPPPREDOM) held a meeting with the objective of strengthening democracy and consolidating the political party system in the country.
The lunch meeting brought together representatives from the business sector and leaders from various political organizations to exchange ideas on governance, institutionality, and the importance of promoting increasingly transparent and participatory political processes.
Among the attendees was the president of the Alternative Democratic Party (MODA), Dr. Elsido Díaz, who participated in the dialogue alongside political leaders and business representatives.
On behalf of CONEP, its president, Celso Juan Marranzini; the executive vice president, César Dargam; and the president of the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE), Boris de León Reyes, participated.
Representing FOPPPREDOM were Maritza López de Ortiz, president of the Liberal Action Party (PAL); José Antolín Polanco, president of the Dominican Green Party; Dr. Elsido Díaz, president of the MODA Party, as well as presidents and authorities from various political organizations.

During the meeting, business leaders and political figures agreed on the importance of maintaining permanent spaces for dialogue and cooperation that contribute to raising the quality of political representation, strengthening democratic institutions, and promoting governance based on transparency and citizen participation.
Likewise, they highlighted that these types of initiatives favor the building of consensus among the productive and political sectors, promoting sustainable development and the strengthening of the democratic system of the Dominican Republic.
