Santo Domingo Norte.– Councilor of the Fuerza del Pueblo, Henry Berihuete, denounced in the session hall of the Santo Domingo Norte City Council the lack of information and transparency regarding the solid waste collection service in the municipality, a situation he described as “painful” and a risk to public health.
Berihuete explained that the bloc of councilors from Fuerza del Pueblo has formally requested the municipal administration for key details about the companies in charge of the service, including their names or corporate names, location, number of trucks in operation, contracts signed with the council, and the financial resources allocated to the payment of these services. The councilman expressed his concern about the current handling of garbage collection, pointing out that, according to unofficial information, some companies have abandoned several collection areas, without the Council of Aldermen having clear knowledge of which areas have been affected or who has assumed these responsibilities. “We are facing a serious situation that directly impacts the health of the population. It is urgent to intervene in this problem,” he expressed.
