DEAMVI arrests seven people for domestic violence in La Vega and Constanza

The Comprehensive Care Unit for Victims of Intrafamily Violence, Gender-Based Violence, and Sexual Offenses (DEAMVI), in coordination with the National Police’s Investigation Division in Constanza, reported the arrest of seven people through judicial orders issued by the competent courts, as part of efforts to guarantee the protection of victims and compliance with the law. In Constanza, Jordy Báez Reyes was arrested under order No. 0597-2026-SAUJ-00078, accused of violating article 309-2 of the Dominican Penal Code, modified by Law 24-97, which typifies domestic and gender-based violence.

In La Vega, the following were arrested:

  • Ramón Acosta Castillo, accused of domestic violence and child abuse (order No. 2026-AJ0007937).
  • Ysrailin José Mota, accused of alleged sexual assault (order No. 2026-AJ0009834).
  • Pedro Manuel Morel García, accused of domestic violence (order No. 2026-AJ0005869).
  • Joan Manuel Torres, accused of alleged sexual assault (order No. 2025-AJ0027031).
  • Anyelo Rosario Mota, accused of domestic violence (order No. 2026-AJ0007945).
  • José Luis Leonardo, accused of domestic violence (order No. 2026-AJ0007578).
All detainees were duly processed and will be brought before the justice system, reaffirming DEAMVI and the National Police’s commitment to protecting victims and effectively enforcing the law.
