Caracas.- The death toll from the double earthquake of magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 that occurred almost a month ago in Venezuela rose this Monday to 5,278, after authorities added seventy deaths, reported the president of the National Assembly (AN, Parliament), Jorge Rodríguez.
The number of injured remains at 16,740 and the number of people without homes at 17,907, indicates the report released on the Telegram account of the brother of the acting president, Delcy Rodríguez.
As a result of this earthquake, there are 23,587 people in 107 transitional camps, while 128,324 families have been assisted by the authorities, according to the report.

In addition, this disaster left about 856 buildings affected and 190 collapsed, according to the official report, which also records 1,405 aftershocks since the double earthquake on June 24.
More than 240 families affected by the earthquakes received the first homes delivered by the Government this Monday, announced Delcy Rodríguez, who led the handover of the apartments.

Likewise, the acting president promised monthly housing deliveries for those affected and to reach 4,000 by December of this year and by 2027 “a figure exceeding 10,000 homes” that will be recovered from “buildings that had not been completed.”

On Friday, the Minister of Ecosocialism, Nelson Rodríguez, reported that the double earthquake has left 2,106,000 tons of debris, according to an estimate by the Government of Venezuela in conjunction with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
