Santo Domingo. – Fuerza del Pueblo deputy, Félix Michel, considered that the pot-banging protests recorded on Monday night are a sign of the discontent of part of the population regarding the economic and social conditions that, in his view, the country is facing.
The legislator stated that the Government’s recent decisions have generated concern among different sectors, as they understand that several measures have been presented simultaneously, impacting the citizenry.
Among the topics mentioned by Michel are the bill on freedom of expression and digital media, the tax reform proposal, legislation on solid waste, the situation of cash in circulation, the demands of doctors and transport workers, as well as citizen insecurity, the increase in the cost of living, and difficulties in some public services.

The congressman maintained that these circumstances have contributed to raising the level of dissatisfaction among citizens, which is why he called on the authorities to listen to the population’s demands and seek solutions through dialogue.
