Expo Feria Destino Oeste was officially presented, an initiative conceived to boost the economic, business, and institutional coordination of Santo Domingo Oeste through a platform that promotes connection between companies, public institutions, academia, entrepreneurs, investors, and key actors of territorial development.
The presentation took place in the Grand Hall of the new Barna Management School headquarters, during the conference “Economic Development and Territorial Articulation”, which brought together representatives from the business sector, authorities, institutional leaders, and strategic partners linked to the productive development of the Santo Domingo province.
“The most successful territories are those that manage to connect their capabilities and coordinate efforts around a shared vision. The potential of Santo Domingo Oeste already exists; what is needed now is to articulate it and turn it into opportunities for its people,” expressed Leandro Mieses, spokesperson for the initiative.
Mieses explained that Expo Feria Destino Oeste arises precisely with the purpose of strengthening those ties and creating meeting spaces between the productive, business, and institutional sectors of the territory, promoting strategic alliances, business opportunities, and a shared vision of development.
Economic potential and territorial articulation
During the event, the organizers highlighted that Santo Domingo Oeste has a historical trajectory closely linked to the economic growth of the Dominican Republic, as it concentrates important industrial, commercial, and logistical assets that have contributed to national development for decades.
In that sense, they pointed out that the municipality has strengths that make it a strategic territory for investment and productive activity, including its geographical location, its proximity to important logistics corridors, the presence of the Herrera Industrial Zone, and its connection to key infrastructure for trade and industry.
While speaking at the event, Ángelo Viro, president of the National Association of Companies and Industries of Herrera (ANEIH), stated that Santo Domingo Oeste should be projected not only as an industrial zone, but also as a comprehensive destination for investment, business, entrepreneurship, and quality of life.
“This Expoferia represents much more than an event. It represents an invitation to discover the enormous potential that Santo Domingo Oeste possesses, to strengthen our competitiveness, and to work together to turn this municipality into a national and international benchmark for productive development,” he expressed.
The participants agreed that one of the main challenges for the territory consists of achieving greater coordination between companies, public institutions, universities, entrepreneurs, and investors, in order to fully leverage the economic and productive capabilities of the municipality.
