DNCD arrests 12 people and seizes more than 1,900 grams of alleged drugs during operations in Boca Chica

Santo Domingo.– Agents of the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), in coordination with members of the Public Ministry, carried out operations against micro-trafficking in different sectors of the Boca Chica municipality, Santo Domingo province, where they arrested 12 people and seized more than 1,900 grams of substances presumed to be drugs.

The interventions are part of the Joint Task Force (FTC) actions to combat points of sale and distribution of controlled substances in vulnerable areas.

During the day, 56 targeted operations were executed in 13 specific cases, through which the authorities impacted structures linked to micro-trafficking operating in that jurisdiction.

As a result of the operations, the authorities seized 484 portions of a powder presumably cocaine, weighing 1,155 grams; 122 wraps of a vegetable substance presumed to be marijuana, weighing 447 grams, and 160 doses of alleged crack, equivalent to about 373 grams.

Detained

Among those arrested are alleged members of the gang known as “Los Sanjuaneros,” including Andy Caraballo (El Pequeño), Manuel Noel (La Pila), Bantroy Rafael Gómez, Virgilio Matos (Puchy), Luis Alberto García (El Flaco), Inmanuel Pérez, Brauly Brown, and Frandelis Sánchez (Papá).

Seized evidence

During the interventions, the following were also seized:

RD$13,650 Dominican pesos in cash.
Five cell phones.
Two portable communication radios.
Three digital scales, allegedly used for weighing and distributing substances.

The DNCD reported that the operations were carried out through operational orders and are part of a joint strategy to strengthen intelligence, patrolling, and the dismantling of networks dedicated to drug sales.

The actions covered communities such as Boca Chica, Monterrey, Los Coquitos, Chavón, Andrés, La 27, La Ceiba, Brisas de Caucedo, Los Tanquecitos, La Altagracia, La Caleta, Campo Lindo, Monte Adentro, and El Valiente.

The anti-drug institution indicated that the detainees were placed at the disposal of the corresponding jurisdiction, while the seized evidence was handed over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for legal purposes.
