Santo Domingo- The National Drug Control Agency (DNCD), together with the Public Ministry and with the support of the National Police, carried out several simultaneous operations in different sectors of Santo Domingo Norte, where 20 people were arrested and more than 9,000 grams of alleged narcotic substances were seized.
The actions were carried out by more than 60 agents, prosecutors, and canine units, as part of the Joint Task Force (FTC) strategies to combat the distribution and sale of drugs in different parts of the country.
During the interventions, the authorities seized 7,556.6 grams of a white powder presumed to be cocaine, 1,625.8 grams of a vegetable substance appearing to be marijuana, and 423.3 grams of suspected crack, for a total of 9,605.7 grams of substances removed from circulation.
In addition to the drugs, the operational teams seized various equipment and items allegedly used for these illicit activities, including communication radios, scales, bulletproof vests, a motorcycle, cell phones, cash, and various bladed weapons.
The operations were carried out in sectors of North Santo Domingo such as Los Platanitos, La Mina, Los Barrancones, and La Cinco Esquinas, in Guaricanos; Los Casabes and El Tanque, in La Victoria; as well as Monterrey, Acapulco, Villa Blanca, and Lotes y Servicios, in Sabana Perdida, among other areas.

Neighborhoods in Villa Mella were also intervened, including Barrio Nuevo and Los Morenos, where authorities carried out search and interdiction actions against structures dedicated to micro-trafficking.
The DNCD reported that it will continue to carry out coordinated operations with other security agencies to dismantle drug sales points, seize narcotic substances, and bring to justice those who engage in these illegal activities.
