Santo Domingo.– The National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), together with the Public Ministry, intensified operations against micro-trafficking in the municipalities of San Francisco de Macorís and Pimentel, Duarte province, where 21 people were arrested and 6,084 grams of alleged controlled substances were seized.
During the interventions, carried out as part of the actions to combat drug distribution, anti-narcotics agents and prosecutors executed 89 operations and three raids aimed at dismantling illicit substance sales points.
As a result of the deployment, the authorities seized 612 portions of a white powder, presumably cocaine, weighing approximately 5,635 grams; 130 wraps of marijuana, equivalent to 421 grams, and six doses of crack, weighing 28.2 grams.
Also seized were four communication radios with their chargers, three scales, four cell phones, a motorcycle, bladed weapons and RD$11,035 in cash, in addition to other evidence.
In San Francisco de Macorís, operations were concentrated in the sectors of San Martín de Porres, San Pedro, Santa Ana, La Ceniza, Maymoro, Riveras del Jaya, Hermanas Mirabal, Pueblo Nuevo, Los Chiripos, El Capacito, La Javiela, Ercilia Pepín, Los Rieles, Las Colonias, San Vicente de Paúl, La Altagracia, and Cristo Rey.

Meanwhile in Pimentel, the interventions covered the sectors of Casa de Alto, Matuan, Los Llanos, Yaiba, El Play, Cantan Los Macos and Cuaba Abajo, among other areas.

The DNCD reported that authorities have reinforced anti-drug trafficking operations throughout 2026 in different parts of the country, with actions aimed at dismantling networks, arresting individuals linked to these activities, and seizing controlled substances.

The institution indicated that these joint operations with the Public Ministry are part of the security strategies implemented to combat drug trafficking and contribute to security and coexistence in the communities.
