Madrid.- The Association of Spanish-Dominican Entrepreneurs (Foro DoMadrid) will carry out a historic milestone for Hispanic journalism by recognizing the work of 25 journalists and communicators from the Dominican Republic, Spain and Italy within the framework of the RD Exquisita Gastronomic Festival, which will be held from January 17 to 20 in Madrid.
The recognition will take place during the Business Gala scheduled for Monday, January 19th at 7:30 PM at the Mercado Escuela San Cristóbal, located at 11 Conde de Torralba Street in Madrid. The event is strategically held prior to the celebration of the International Tourism Fair (
FITUR), taking advantage of the presence of the international press in the Spanish capital.
Luis Pérez Novas, president of the Dominican College of Journalists, and Salvador Molina, president of the Economic and Finance Forum of Spain (Foro Ecofin) and of the Association of Communication Professionals of Spain (ProCom) will participate in the ceremony. He served as president of Telemadrid from 2016 to 2017.
The 25 honorees represent journalism from three countries:
Dominican Republic, Spain, and Italy, communicators who have worked to strengthen the cultural and commercial ties of Hispanic America. Pérez Novas leads the Dominican College of Journalists, an institution that represents more than
4,800 registered journalists in the Dominican Republic and abroad, a defender of the rights of the guild and promoter of freedom of the press.
Molina presides the main Spanish think tank and think tank focused on economic and financial innovation, Foro Ecofin, in addition to directing the communication sector of the National Federation of Associations of Self-Employed Workers of Spain (ATA).
The ceremony will be part of the Business Gala which will include a Spanish-Dominican gastronomic fusion type cocktail, with tastings that highlight the best of Caribbean and Mediterranean cuisine. During the event, specialized sessions will be held on “
Dominican Republic and Madrid: Tourism and gastronomy as a bridge between two continents” and “
Dominican Republic: Smart investment in the heart of the Caribbean“.
The gala will also pay tribute to Chef Tita (Inés Páez Nin), owner of the Aguají restaurant in the Dominican Republic, the first Dominican establishment to enter the
Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants list, a recognition that marked a milestone in Dominican gastronomy internationally.
The festival aims to consolidate the connection between Madrid and the Dominican Republic as gastronomic tourism destinations, boost the network of Hispanic-Dominican businesses in the Spanish capital, and strengthen trade relations between both nations.
