Santo Domingo.– A total of 40 professionals from the Dominican Republic Emergency Medical Team (EMT-RD) returned to the country this Saturday after participating for 12 days in a humanitarian assistance mission in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, where they provided medical care to communities impacted by the recent earthquakes.
During its intervention, the Dominican delegation provided health services to 2,502 people, bringing consultations, evaluations, and assistance to the areas most affected by the emergency.
Upon receiving the brigade, the Minister of Public Health, Víctor Atallah, valued the work carried out by the specialists and highlighted the Dominican team’s capacity to respond to natural disaster scenarios.
The official indicated that the participation of the EMT-RD reflects the Dominican Republic’s commitment to international cooperation and support for countries facing crisis situations, through the deployment of highly trained personnel to provide healthcare assistance.
Likewise, he congratulated the members of the mission for their dedication and professionalism, highlighting that their work contributed to strengthening the humanitarian response in the Venezuelan communities affected by seismic activity.
