Santo Domingo.– Dominican Motors officially presented the new hybrid range from Lynk & Co during Hybrid Connections, an event that marked the arrival in the country of the Lynk & Co 08 EM-P and Lynk & Co 01 PHEV models.

The star of the night was the Lynk & Co 08 EM-P, a plug-in hybrid SUV that arrives backed by significant international credentials: two Guinness World Records in efficiency and range, a nomination for World Car Design of the Year 2026, and a combined range of 1,200 kilometers, a figure that raises the category standard in the local market.

The heart of the model is the Electric Mobility Platform, developed by Geely for its new energy brands. Its BHE 1.5 Turbo hybrid engine achieves a thermal efficiency of 44.26%, one of the highest recorded in mass-produced engines worldwide. The system incorporates more than 20 operating modes and operates in real time, prioritizing electric driving in the city and alternating between engines on the highway without driver intervention.

“Today we are introducing a range that changes the conversation in the Dominican automotive market. With Lynk & Co, the consumer gains access to a proposal that integrates efficiency, design, technology, and autonomy into a single vehicle. This new plug-in hybrid generation demonstrates that electrified mobility can be aspirational, practical, and compatible with the reality of our country,” stated Sébastian Proux, General Manager of Dominican Motors.

The Cell-to-Pack battery charges from 30% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes and has undergone more than 175 safety tests, including impact, immersion, and fire resistance trials.

The Lynk & Co 01 PHEV completes the range with a practical and versatile plug-in hybrid proposal, aimed at those looking to move towards more efficient mobility without radically changing their driving habits. Both models feature five Euro NCAP stars, advanced driving assistance systems, wireless connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and OTA software updates that keep the vehicle up to date without the need to visit the workshop.

The introduction of plug-in hybrid technology responds to a context in which both individuals and companies are looking for alternatives to the growing weight of fuel in their monthly budgets. PHEV technology allows for a significant reduction in operating expenses without requiring complex charging infrastructure, making it a viable alternative for advancing the energy transition in the country.

Both models are available for immediate delivery at the Lynk & Co showroom on Abraham Lincoln Avenue. They will soon be available through the authorized Dominican Motors dealer network in the country.
