Santo Domingo. – Authorities have detained the driver of the pickup truck involved in the traffic accident that occurred in the Los Ríos sector, in the National District, which left three people dead, including a young girl.
The arrest took place hours after the tragic event and was captured in a video circulating on social media, where police officers can be seen escorting the man, who was driving the vehicle allegedly involved in the incident.
The accident has caused deep dismay among the residents of the area, due to the magnitude of the tragedy and the loss of a minor. The identities of the victims had not been officially released at the time of publication.
The authorities reported that the driver remains in custody while investigations proceed to determine the circumstances under which the accident occurred and to establish the corresponding responsibilities.
