Santo Domingo.– The woman who was seriously injured during the incident recorded on Coronel Juan María Lora Fernández Avenue, in the Los Ríos sector, National District, remains hospitalized in critical condition at the Salvador B. Gautier Hospital, where she is receiving specialized medical care.
The 32-year-old patient, of Haitian nationality, was struck by a pickup truck that, according to preliminary reports, was being driven at high speed. The incident also resulted in the death of a man and a two-year-old girl.
The director of the Salvador B. Gautier Hospital reported that the woman underwent surgery after being admitted to the health center and that her condition remains guarded.

He indicated that the medical team is maintaining constant monitoring of the patient and that, for the moment, it will be necessary to wait for her clinical evolution to determine her response to the treatment.
Authorities continue investigations to establish the circumstances under which the tragic accident occurred, which left two families in mourning and a third person fighting for their life.
