Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) reported that during this Friday night and the weekend, weather conditions will remain with little change across much of the national territory, due to the influence of a high-pressure system and the presence of Saharan dust.

Forecaster Damaris Mercedes explained that, although an environment with scarce precipitation will prevail, the east and east-southeast wind will cause some cloud increases with weak and isolated rains, mainly during the early morning hours over the Caribbean coastal littoral.

He indicated that no significant rainfall accumulations are expected in most of the country, as the high-pressure system maintains stable conditions and Saharan dust limits cloud development.

Likewise, it warned that the environment will continue to be very hot during the day, so it urged the population to stay well hydrated, wear light and light-colored clothing, and avoid direct exposure to the sun between 11:00 in the morning and 4:00 in the afternoon.

The specialist also recommended paying special attention to children, the elderly, and pregnant women, as they are the most vulnerable groups to high temperatures.
