Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) forecast little rainfall over much of the national territory during this weekend, due to the incidence of a high-pressure system located over Atlantic waters.

Weather forecaster Henry Agramonte explained that, although an environment with little rainfall will prevail, some isolated showers could be recorded due to local effects and the east-southeast wind, mainly towards the border area and the Central Mountain Range.

For this Saturday, partly cloudy skies and low chances of precipitation are expected, although the arrival of Saharan dust particles is forecast during the morning. In the afternoon, some isolated showers could occur.

While a slight increase in humidity is anticipated for Sunday due to the approach of a tropical wave to the Dominican territory, which will favor the occurrence of scattered showers, mainly over the southeast and northeast regions, the Central Mountain Range, and the border area.

Agramonte also pointed out that high temperatures will continue to affect the country, due to the time of year and the persistence of the east-southeast wind.

Given the heat conditions, he recommended that the population drink enough fluids, wear light clothing, preferably in light colors, and avoid direct exposure to solar radiation between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. afternoon.

The conditions forecast for this Saturday will favor outdoor activities, including visits to beach areas, although the population is advised to maintain protective measures against high temperatures and solar radiation.
