During her concert in Bogotá —part of the Radical Optimism Tour— British-Albanian singer Dua Lipa paid an emotional tribute to Colombian artist Shakira by performing the song “Antología.”
When announcing the song to the public, Dua Lipa explained that she wanted to dedicate that moment to an artist who inspires her “for her evolution and for how she has touched hearts around the world.”
The stadium filled with shouts, applause, and thousands of fans singing in unison, turning that moment into one of the most viral of the concert.
In social media, videos of the tribute began to circulate, and many followers celebrated the gesture, calling it one of the most heartfelt tributes that an international star has ever made to Latin music.
For Shakira, performing her song hundreds of kilometers away, with another voice and on an international stage, was a source of pride: she posted on her social media that she felt “excited to hear my song with Dua’s voice, in the same city where I wrote it years ago.”
