Edesur will modernize electrical grids in Bahoruco with an investment of over RD$94.1 million

NEIBA.- Edesur Dominicana is working on the modernization of electrical grids in communities of Neiba, Bahoruco province, for which it will allocate an investment exceeding RD94.1 million.

The initiative will benefit the Buenos Aires del Yeso, Vista al Lago, and Los Cocos sectors, where 18.75 kilometers of medium-voltage lines, 468 new streetlights, 566 poles, and 128 distribution transformers will be installed.

Once the work is completed, 1,623 new customers will be regularized and will have a safer, more stable electrical service with more adequate voltage levels.

The intervention to be carried out in Neiba and other areas of the company’s concession zone is part of the Polygon Recovery Program (PRP), which aims to reduce breakdowns and failures that can occur in communities with homes lacking formal connections and with precarious electrical grids that, in some cases, are supported by trees or deteriorated poles.

The details of the initiative were presented to community members and municipal authorities by the General Manager of Edesur, José Luis Actis, who highlighted that the distributor seeks to strengthen and optimize its electrical infrastructure and address technical and commercial energy losses to achieve greater operational sustainability.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Neiba, Yadel Suberví, praised the distributor’s initiative and urged the community to commit to regularizing their service and complying with the timely payment of consumed energy, in order to avoid losses that affect the quality and stability of the supply.

With these works, Edesur Dominicana drives the social and economic progress of the communities, promotes the revitalization of local economies, and favors the reduction of costs assumed by users by decreasing the need to use electric generators and other alternative methods of energy generation.
