San Cristóbal.– Edesur Dominicana began work on the Polygon Recovery Program (PRP), an extensive plan for the rehabilitation and expansion of electrical grids that covers the eleven provinces within its concession area.

The initiative, which contemplates an investment of over RD$1.907 billion, seeks to optimize the electric power service and guarantee the company’s operational sustainability.

The works began to be executed in Doña Ana, in San Cristóbal; Estebanía, in Azua; Escondido, in Baní; Los Invasores, in San José de Ocoa; and Juancho and Los Altagracianos, in Pedernales.

In these demarcations, pole-raising work is being carried out to support the new power lines, with the goal of bringing energy to locations where a secure electrical service did not previously exist.

Through the Polygon Recovery Program, the construction of more than 260 kilometers of medium-voltage networks is planned, with the aim of normalizing the supply for tens of thousands of users. In addition, it includes the deployment of anti-fraud networks, technological solutions to facilitate remote metering, and tools to improve the management of customer consumption.

In San Cristóbal, the project contemplates an investment of over RD$324.8 million and will benefit 5,133 customers.

In addition to Doña Ana, the program includes communities such as La Palmita, Monte Adentro, La Altagracia, Loma Verde, El Siete, Los Guananitos, San José del Puerto, Los Guanchos, Sabana Toro, El Enea de Hato Dama, Rancho Yagua, El Kilómetro 59, and Los Corozos.

Likewise, the Polygon Recovery Program began in Escondido, Baní, and will extend to the localities of Las Tablas, Ana Lucía, Cañafistol, and the Guayacanes and Vista Eólica neighborhoods. In Peravia, the company plans to invest more than RD$200.7 million, with interventions that will benefit some 3,168 customers.

Edesur is also moving forward with the installation of poles in Los Invasores, San José de Ocoa, a province where the distributor will invest approximately RD$70.3 million in the improvement and expansion of the electrical grid.

Similar works are being carried out in Juancho and Los Altagracianos, in Pedernales, where the distributor will invest approximately RD$190.2 million to develop the program, which will benefit approximately 2,176 users in that province.

With the Polygon Recovery Program, Edesur seeks not only to expand its electrical infrastructure, but also to regularize service in areas with non-existent or deteriorated networks, optimize billing processes, and reduce electrical losses, contributing to fewer failures and ensuring greater safety for properties and users.
