The Central Bank of the Dominican Republic published the reference prices for the purchase and sale of the euro for this Friday, December 19, 2025, as follows:
Financial entities show a buying rate of RD$72.41 and a selling rate of RD$76.83. Compared to the previous day, the local currency showed a very slight recovery (appreciation) of just 0.08% in the buying.
If these values are compared to the close of the year 2024, a notable depreciation of the Dominican peso of 14.33% in buying and 14.35% in selling is observed, when the values were at RD$62.03 and RD$65.80 respectively.
For their part, the exchange agents handle slightly different margins, with a purchase rate of RD$72.71 and a sale of RD$75.1263.
It is noteworthy that, compared to the data from a month ago, the peso has achieved an appreciation of 0.55% in the foreign exchange market.
As in banks, the annual comparison reveals a loss of value of the peso against the European currency, with an accumulated depreciation of 13.42% in the purchase and 13.94% in the sale since the close of 2024.
