Santiago.– The increase in ticket prices began to be applied this Friday on at least 13 transport routes in the Cibao region, as confirmed by the president of the National Confederation of Transport Workers (CNTT), Juan Marte.

Among the routes that adjusted their fare by RD$50 starting today are San José de las Matas (Sajoma), Sabana Iglesia, Hato del Yaque, Los Guandules-Santiago, Santiago-Puerto Plata, Navarrete-Puerto Plata, Imbert-Puerto Plata, La Isabela-Puerto Plata, and Pedro García, among others.

After participating in a radio program on Súper 7 FM, Marte confirmed the information and stated: “Colleagues have already begun to apply the fare increase, as a result of the pressure from high operational costs that make the sector unsustainable.”

Likewise, he indicated that other routes will implement the new increases next Monday, when details on the new fare rates will be offered at a press conference starting at 10:00 a.m.
