Faride Raful announces new fire station in Haina and calls for coexistence and common sense at Christmas
Bajos de Haina. – The Minister of Interior and Police reported that the Government will build a new fire station in the Industrial District of Haina, with the purpose of reinforcing preventive security and guaranteeing a more efficient response to emergencies in this strategic area for national production.
The announcement comes after the report made by Despertar Nacional during the passage of the Melissa storm, in which the deplorable conditions in which the fire station of the Industrial District Haina–Nigua currently operates were exposed. Following this evidence, the minister confirmed that the construction of a new facility will be carried out to dignify the service and strengthen the operational capacity in the face of any eventuality.
Raful highlights joint work with industrialists to materialize the project
When interviewed by Moisés González, from Despertar Nacional, the official highlighted that for several weeks the Ministry has maintained direct communication with the industrial sector to coordinate efforts and advance in this project. She explained that they are working on strengthening preventive security, “especially in terms of risk management”, an aspect that she defined as essential in the Industrial District of Haina, “a highly productive area that requires timely response capacity from the State to avoid tragedies”.
Meta: modern headquarters in 2026
He indicated that, thanks to the collaboration with industrialists, a synergy has been generated focused on providing Haina with a modern headquarters that adequately responds to any situation arising from its intense commercial activity. He added that a plot of land owned by the City Council has already been identified and that the goal is to materialize the work in 2026.
Industrialists value announcement as a transcendental step
The industrial sector of Haina reacted positively to the announcement, valuing it as a key step forward for the security of the district and for the protection of thousands of jobs, as well as the logistical operations that depend on rapid responses to emergencies. Ricardo Napoleón Rodríguez, president of the Association of Industrialists of Haina, highlighted that the construction of the new barracks was an urgent demand and that this decision will allow for the adequate attention to the needs of such an active and sensitive area.
CONEP and Grupo Haina highlight public-private collaboration
Similarly, Celso Juan Marranzini, president of CONEP, and Juan Tomás Díaz, president of Grupo Haina, agreed in valuing the announcement as an example of public-private collaboration that will guarantee better security conditions for the economic development of this strategic area.
Reinforcement of security in San Cristóbal and Haina
During the conversation, the minister informed that security was recently reinforced throughout the province of San Cristóbal, including Haina, with the incorporation of 16 new agents, new vehicles, and a permanent surveillance scheme.
“Christmas with Peace Guarantee 2.0” deploys 28,000 agents
He also highlighted the impact of the “Christmas with Peace Guarantee 2.0” plan, launched this week by President Luis Abinader, with a deployment of nearly 28,000 agents throughout the national territory. He explained that this operation seeks to promote tranquility, prevention, and the capacity to respond to any eventuality during the festivities.
Call for coexistence and common sense
Finally, Raful called for common sense and civic coexistence, underlining that the Government is committed to promoting social peace and collective responsibility during this Christmas period.
