Santo Domingo, DR.- This Friday, July 3rd, and Saturday, July 4th, Santo Domingo once again becomes a meeting point for fashion with the celebration of the fourth edition of Fashion Freak Fest, which will take place at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Hotel. This year, the event presents the “Maison Caribe” concept, a proposal that explores Caribbean identity from a contemporary perspective that unites creativity, culture, and sophistication.
Driven by communicator and fashion producer Marielle Araujo, the festival has positioned itself as one of the main platforms for promoting creative talent in the Dominican Republic, connecting designers, brands, and entrepreneurs with new opportunities within the fashion, beauty, and lifestyle industries.
Under the concept of a “maison” as a creative house, this edition proposes the Caribbean as a territory of aesthetic expression where tradition and innovation coexist. With the motto “Wear the Island,” the experience invites us to reinterpret the Caribbean through fashion and design.
The runway schedule brings together 20 designers and brands from different countries. On Friday, NICCI SWIM, Crochet Stuff by Allison Cruz, Yenny Vásquez, Yojanna Varela, ARTYPICAL, AVO, Yohanna Gursey (USA), Jeanette Limas (USA), and Giannina Azar will present their collections. Saturday will feature Génesis Ruiz & Gina Collado, Sol Tropic Swimwear, Marisol Henríquez, MODECO by Emely Polanco, ZEAN by Ismael Rodríguez, Mundana by Dariela Castilla (Mexico), Joel Reyes, Victor y Jesse (Mexico), and Wilson Alcéquiez. The general direction of the runway shows is led by Sócrates McKinney.
The event will also feature the special participation of José Forteza, senior editor of Vogue Latin America and honorary president of Fashion Designers of Latin America (FDLA).
