Former Playboy bunny revealed that her autism was key to entering the mansion

Holly Madison, Playboy universe model, revealed that her late autism diagnosis may have influenced the decisions she made in her youth, especially her entry into the Playboy Mansion at age 21.

Madison, now 45 years old, reported that she received her diagnosis in 2023, after making her suspicions public two years earlier, and emphasized that this “was a great help in understanding some aspects of her life”. The model and actress noticed that during her youth she had “social difficulties and problems relating to people,” however, she associated it with the remote area of Alaska where she is from. It was her mother’s words that made her seek professional help, as she confessed that “as a mother, she felt that something was happening with Holly”.

After exhausting a process of medical consultations, Madison was diagnosed with high-functioning autism spectrum disorder. According to the organization Autism Speaks, this type of autism is characterized by difficulties in social skills, repetitive behaviors, problems in verbal and non-verbal communication, although people who suffer from it can function independently in many areas of their lives.

“It definitely sheds some light on where my feelings and motivations were and why I had certain impressions about things,” said the former playmate, who was also one of the protagonists of the reality show ‘The Girls Next Door’, broadcast by E! between 2005 and 2009.
