Santo Domingo. – The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, through decrees no. 499-26 and 486-26, granted solidarity disability pensions in a monthly amount of RD$6,000, as part of the Government’s actions to strengthen social protection and improve the quality of life for people with disabilities.
The decrees establish that the payment of these pensions will be made charged to the fund allocated for those purposes, called Solidarity Pensions, executed by the General Directorate of Retirement and Pensions in Charge of the State (DGJP), a dependency of the Ministry of Finance.
The honorary president of CONADIS, Benny Metz, valued President Luis Abinader’s decision as a sign of the Government’s commitment to inclusion and social protection.
“These pensions reflect the Government’s commitment to continue building a more inclusive country, where people with disabilities have greater opportunities and receive the support they need to live with dignity. We invite those who do not yet have their Disability Certificate to begin the process at CONADIS in order to access this and other benefits offered by the State,” stated Metz.

For his part, the executive director of CONADIS, Alexis Alcántara, highlighted that these pensions represent significant support for people with disabilities and their families.
“The solidarity pension constitutes support that contributes to improving the quality of life for people with disabilities in vulnerable conditions. From CONADIS, we continue working to ensure that those who meet the requirements can access this right in a transparent and timely manner,” stated Alcántara.
To verify if a person with a disability is among the beneficiaries of the pensions granted by the Dominican Government through decrees no. 499-26 and 486-26, citizens can consult the information available on the official portal of the National Council on Disability (CONADIS), www.conadis.gob.do, where they will be able to access the corresponding data.

The National Disability Council (CONADIS) plays a fundamental role in this process by managing the applications of individuals who meet the established criteria to access this benefit. Among the main requirements is having the Disability Certificate issued by the institution, a document that officially certifies the disability status and allows access to various programs and benefits provided by the State.
