Azua. – The Dominican Government delivered bonus certificates to 36 agricultural producers in the province of Azua, through the Fund for the Promotion of the Technification of the National Irrigation System (FOTESIR), with an investment exceeding RD$20 million, aimed at modernizing the irrigation system and strengthening agricultural production.
The event took place at the Provincial Government and was led by Governor María Minerva Navarro and the director of the National Irrigation Technicalization (TNR), Claudio Caamaño Vélez, with the presence of the mayor of Guayabal, Hipólito Cabral, and representatives of the Agricultural Bank.
Authorities explained that the funds will allow the implementation of efficient irrigation technologies, optimizing water use and increasing the productivity of the agricultural sector in Azua.
Governor Navarro highlighted that this initiative responds to the policies of President Luis Abinader, aimed at promoting modern, sustainable and competitive agriculture, for the benefit of producers and the development of the province. By: Juan Piña
