Hearing on Yokairy Sosa’s appeal in cassation, sentenced to 12 years in prison, postponed until March 31
Santo Domingo.- The lawyer Jean Cristofer Pérez, legal representative of Yokairy Sosa, informed that the hearing scheduled for this Thursday at 4:30 p.m. was postponed to next Tuesday, March 31st.
The jurist explained that his client, who was sentenced to 12 years in prison and has served two, appealed in cassation considering that there is no irrefutable evidence to prove her participation in the act for which she was convicted.
Pérez maintained that the decision to reschedule the hearing by judges Francisco Antonio Jerez, Frank Soto and María Garabitos “responds to the need to study in depth the file and the appeal for cassation filed by Sosa“.
Regarding an audio that has been spread on social media, in which those responsible for the crime allegedly exclude Yokairy Sosa from the events, the lawyer indicated that said material cannot be formally incorporated as evidence in the process. However, he pointed out that it should be taken into account that, according to the alleged author in that audio, Sosa “has nothing to do” with the robbery he is accused of.
