Santo Domingo.– The Dr. Hugo Mendoza Pediatric Hospital reached a significant milestone in specialized pediatric care by receiving its 1,000th patient within the Clubfoot Program, an initiative that since 2018 has transformed the lives of hundreds of children and their families through timely treatment and comprehensive follow-up to correct this congenital condition.
Thanks to this program, hundreds of patients have managed to walk, run, play, and fully integrate into their daily activities, demonstrating the impact of specialized, continuous care focused on the child’s well-being.
This achievement is the result of the commitment of a multidisciplinary team led by Dr. Delfilio Martínez, who has promoted the strengthening and growth of the initiative since its inception.
The work of Marcelle Puello was also recognized, whose experience, dedication, and guidance have been fundamental in the recovery process of hundreds of patients and in the support provided to their families during treatment.

The hospital’s management also highlighted the support of Hope Walks, an allied entity that has contributed to the development and consolidation of the program, strengthening the center’s response capacity for the benefit of Dominican children.
Clubfoot is a congenital malformation that affects the position of one or both feet at birth. Without proper treatment, it can limit mobility and quality of life; however, early intervention allows the condition to be corrected with high levels of success.
With the arrival of the 1,000th patient, the Dr. Hugo Mendoza Pediatric Hospital reaffirms its commitment to specialized, high-quality pediatric care, offering hope and new opportunities to children who can now take their first steps toward a full and independent life.
