Inespre will install mobile warehouses in penitentiary centers starting this Sunday

Santo Domingo.- The Price Stabilization Institute (Inespre) will begin installing mobile warehouses in different penitentiary centers in the country starting this Sunday, the 8th, as part of an inter-institutional work coordinated with the General Directorate of Penitentiary and Correctional Services. This initiative seeks to alleviate the economic burden on the families of those deprived of their liberty, who during visiting days will be able to purchase food products at a low cost to supply their relatives, as well as for the communities near the penitentiary facilities.

“The installation of mobile warehouses in the vicinity of the prisons is of significant importance for the relatives of the inmates, who, although they receive food assistance from the State, always hope to bring other items during visiting days,” said Roberto Santana, director of Penitentiary and Correctional Services, Roberto Santana

In addition, the program strengthens support for national producers by integrating their products into Inespre’s marketing channels. It is also proposed that national producers who work with Inespre supply the Economic Dining Halls with their harvests, which are in charge of supplying cooked food to the inmates.
