Venezuela.- Infectious disease specialist Patricia Valenzuela assured that there is no national alarm situation or risk of an epidemic in Venezuela following the confirmation of the deaths of three members of the same family due to Hantavirus in the state of Anzoátegui.
The specialist called for calm and explained that, despite the concern generated by the case, there is no evidence of an outbreak that poses a threat to the general population.
During an interview, Valenzuela also debunked the rumors that have circulated on social media regarding the alleged outbreak of epidemics as a consequence of victims who died during natural disasters, such as earthquakes or landslides.
The infectious disease specialist indicated that these claims lack scientific foundation and urged citizens to get informed through official sources and to avoid spreading unverified information that could generate unnecessary concern.
