Santo Domingo.- The Central Electoral Board (JCE) reported that it will challenge through the appropriate judicial channels, both in the country and abroad, the ruling issued by a court in the Southern District of New York, maintaining that there is no evidence that the Plenary of the organization or its president authorized the contracting of the services claimed by the plaintiff.

Through a statement, the electoral body explained that its Plenary ordered the adoption of all necessary legal actions to protect the institutional interests, as well as the image and good name of the entity.

The decision was announced after the Third Chamber of the Civil and Commercial Court of the Court of First Instance of the National District issued, on June 29, 2026, an order through which it accepted the request for homologation of a foreign judgment presented by the company Latin Events, LLC.

The JCE insists that there are no documents proving that the hiring alleged by the plaintiff company was approved or authorized by the competent authorities of the institution, which is why it asserts that it will continue to exercise its defense in the corresponding courts.
